Winter Weather

The field crew is still inside doing lab work and writing up reports. Now they have the added benefit of avoiding some of the cold. However, our indoor temperature is currently still not very warm. If you are volunteering at the James Lee Community Center, please dress in layers. You may want your coat, hats, scarves and some fingertip-less gloves to wear even inside the building.

The first winter storm of the season is predicted for this Friday & Saturday. If the storm occurs then it will most likely close the lab & activities we have planned. We will contact those registered to attend Saturday’s Archaeology New Volunteer Orientation in the event that we must cancel. The Archaeology Team here prefers everyone live long full happy lives, so in any extreme weather, please stay safe.

Fairfax County’s  new weather procedure applies to the James Lee Community Center and our labs. Also, there are several websites with useful information.
