the virtual past

Marion has been busy in the lab recreating the landscape of the port town of Colchester.  This rendering is slightly more accurate than before, due to her hard work to create elevations using ArcGIS with a topo map from 1920.  Modern landform modifications are removed, like the drainage ditches near the modern Yacht Club towards the south side of town.  The buildings are placed on town lots according to deeds and other historic records, and from CART archaeology over the past 3 years.
