Busy days are here again!

The past few days have been busy for CART.  On Thursday we participated in an invasive species plant removal with the OCPP naturalists.  We removed over 60 large trash bags of Japanese Stiltgrass around the pond in the middle of the park.  A big thank you to the volunteers that came out and assisted, in the windy and wet conditions! On Friday, 10 students from George Mason University joined CART at JLC for an orientation and some lab work.  Many of these students were interested in continuing to volunteer with us and earn some college credit while having fun in the lab and in the field.  In the picture, Chris is giving the students a powerpoint orientation before they head into the wet lab for artifact washing.
On Saturday Chris and Megan attended the Mount Vernon Town Meeting with the Friends of Fairfax Archaeology and Cultural Resources group (FOFA).  We had quite a few visitors to the booth and lots of interest in the artifacts that have been recovered in our past two years of work at OCPP.
