This past Wednesday, Kathleen Lowe, our field director for prehistoric excavations, presented an update to the monthly meeting of the Archaeological Society of Virginia, Northern Virginia Chapter. The historic lab was packed with a record turnout for the event. She described some of the findings from the finger ridges to the Big Late Woodland site. As a result of the amazing work of the prehistoric team we now have evidence of possibly 8,000 years of continuous human activity on what is now the Old Colchester Park & Preserve. Excellent job on the presentation and the wonderful work being done. Congrats Kathleen!
