Feature 36

We continue to expand over Feature 36 at the town site, trying to figure out how it fits into the townscape.  Not unlike Feature 9, it remains a mystery. And, again not unlike Feature 9, Megan is plunging into a complex situation.

Here, Megan is carefully exposing a large piece of creamware. So far, we can say that this feature is trench-like, may have been burned, and dates to the town period.  It is yet another example of how much these archaeologically intact aspects of Colchester have to contribute to our knowledge of colonial port towns.
